Job title: CNC Setup & Shop Assistant

Reports to: CNC Manager

Supervisory responsibilities: None. 

Summary/objective: Specialty Tooling Systems (STS) is seeking CNC Setup & Shop Assistants to join their team! The responsibilities will include working with an STS Machinist in setting up jobs - including preparing the machine for operation. When not setting up, you will be assigned general shop duties. 

Essential functions: 

• Under the direction of a CNC Machinist, prepare the machine and set up the jobs
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance
• Assist in general shop duties when no setup tasks are assigned
• Keep work area clean. 
• Follow all safety rules and report unsafe work conditions to management. 
• Regular attendance at work during scheduled work hours. 
• Employees may be requested to perform other job functions as required. 

Required competency, education, and experience:  

• Experience as a CNC Setup person
• Candidate must have high school or equivalent education. 
• Candidate must have valid driver’s license 

Work environment: Manufacturing environment 

Physical demands:  

• Candidate must have full use of all limbs. 

• Candidate must be able to read and speak English. 

• Candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds. 

Position type and expected hours of work: Full time. Day and night shift available. 

Travel: None.
